Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
Underlives collects as little data as possible. This page explains what the website, the API, the game and the Discord bot collect, and why.
Website
- No accounts, no ads, no third-party trackers, no advertising cookies.
- Your browser stores your language and a random anonymous id locally (
localStorage). The id exists only to stop one visitor voting twice on the hub. It is not tied to any identity, and you can erase it by clearing the site's data. - Like any web server, ours may temporarily keep technical logs (IP address, date, requested page) for security and troubleshooting.
API and hub
- Launcher downloads are counted: only a running total is kept and displayed.
- When you publish a mod, we keep the file, its description and the author name you chose. All of it is public.
Game and launcher
The game runs locally: saves, characters and mods stay on your computer. The launcher contacts our servers to download and update the game, and the game contacts them to browse the hub. No gameplay data is sent.
Discord bot
- To answer a command, the bot receives the interaction from Discord: your user id, the server, the channel and the command options. This information is used to reply, then discarded. The bot stores no messages and no personal data.
- The bot does not read message content. It only needs access to the servers it is in (the
Guildsintent). - The only thing it keeps is the list of devlog posts it has already announced.
- It reposts development progress (commit messages, links) to a dedicated channel. None of it contains data about server members.
- Discord processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Sharing
We do not sell or share any data. The only providers involved are our host and Discord.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, for example to have a mod you published removed. Ask on the Discord server.
Minors
The Service is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect any data about minors.
