NPCs play the mods
Every action a mod adds is available to everyone in the city, not just to you. A new mod changes how the whole population lives.
A city that lives without you. Every person in it has a personality, wants things, and acts on it.
Events happen whether you are there or not: debts, betrayals, revenge, crimes. You are one life among thousands, under the same rules as everyone else.
Free · Windows · Mods included

Live: the real Central London the game is built on, fifty people, no script
NPCs use the same mods, actions and scenes you do. They borrow, work, seduce, steal and settle scores with each other. Nobody scripts it, and nobody stops it.
Marc loses his job. Short on rent, he borrows 4,000 from Viktor, a loan shark who runs a bar downtown.
Marc can't pay. Viktor is cruel and patient. He sends two men to remind him.
Marc is a coward: he hides and stops answering. Viktor doesn't let it go.
Viktor's men take Marc's wife. What happens to her, abduction, sexual assault, is the price of the debt.
Her brother is vengeful. He goes looking for Viktor. The story keeps going, with or without you.
You were never involved. You might hear about it, or step into it. Life has no rules.
Every action a mod adds is available to everyone in the city, not just to you. A new mod changes how the whole population lives.
Kind, cruel, psychopathic, fearful: each person weighs the same situation differently, so the same debt ends a hundred different ways.
People remember. Unpaid debts, humiliations and favours ripple through families, friends and rivals for weeks.
Same rules for you: borrow, betray, protect, or become the one others fear. Or just watch the city tear itself apart.
Everything is a system you can inspect, extend or replace. Nothing is hardcoded just to look good in a trailer.

Sculpt faces and bodies with a full morph pipeline, then dress, name and place them in the world. Every slider is real data a mod can reach.
Dialogue, choices and portraits presented through a proper VN layer — written as plain scripts anyone can open and rewrite.

Streets, blocks and buildings generated from real-world map data — so the city you wander through is an actual place, not a backlot.

Family trees, dating, marriage, pregnancy and contacts — a real graph underneath, with people who keep living while you look away.

Take a job or run the place: businesses, employees, salaries, rent and reputation, all driven by the same numbers you can read.

Homes and venues assemble themselves room by room from authored grammars. Open a door and the layout beyond it is genuinely new.
The scripting API is not an afterthought bolted on after launch — it is the same surface the base game is built on.
Scenes, actions and stats are real Lua files. Bring a text editor and you are already modding.
Clothes, hair, rooms and animations load at runtime from .glb or .fbx — export straight out of DAZ or Blender, no engine cook required.
Every action, stat and scene the base game ships is a plain file next to yours, overridable by load order.
Edit it, run it: every person in the city above can then play it
Screenshots and clips captured in-engine — no staged marketing renders.

Rooms, characters, mods and screenshots — published from inside the game and browsable by everyone.
Underlives is built from scratch in Unreal Engine 5. Here is honestly where it stands.
